Creature comforts
The house has three bedrooms with king size beds, one of which is able to be split into two singles. Each has its own bathroom, full linen and towel supply and bath robes. With French doors opening out to wide decking, there is great indoor outdoor flow and ready access to all parts of the home making it very easy for wheelchair access. There is also a small cottage with a Queen bed so this large house comfortably accommodates 8 people.
The huge lounge gives spectacular views of the ocean and coast and has a large stone fireplace for warmth and atmosphere offering a great place for relaxing. The home is furnished with 20th century furniture and features New Zealand art throughout. Enjoy our peaceful coastal and country setting, or just laze around with a good book, this clifftop home offers a unique accommodation experience.
'The Port' has full internet broadband access and Vodafone mobile access, but has no landline telephone or Telecom reception. The property sits in a climatic pocket warmed by the sea air and is hence frost free, it is North and East facing so has sun all day. 'The Port' is extremely private and nobody is able to overlook you and is not visible from the road. 'The Port' is a Vacation Rental meaning you have the place to yourselves, we have a two night minimum stay. The owners live on an adjoining property. Your pets can be catered to with prior notice but as there is stock close by we ask that your pets are under control at all times.
'The Port' is a self cater cliff-top residence, it has a large organic vegetable garden which is available for your use while staying, a daily delivery of organic free range eggs for your breakfast make a great start to your day. Water is triple filtered so all water is safe for drinking. A full kitchen or outside BBQ give you two cooking options, with an award winning butcher in the local town of Cheviot, your meat requirements can all be met locally. With prior notice, and an extra charge, catering by your hosts, John and David can be available.
